Due to Prime Minister Digital India Initiative, Kolkata metro is preparing for another gift to the city. This is going to be the first city in the nation in which commuters will surf the high-speed internet in all 17 stations of Kolkata Metro. In the present time, only two stations of Kolkata metro which are Park street and maidan stations provide this facility.
This initiative is very useful to connect more and more passengers to the internet world and provide convenience. Commuters who travel through Dum Dum to Tollygunge metro stations can use this facility of hi-speed wi-fi internet. Passengers only use this facility on platforms and in front of ticket counters and will not work inside the moving trains.
Spokesperson of Kolkata metro rail, Indra Banerji Said that initially this service of the free high-speed internet is presently available at park street and maidan station and from this July 25, it will also available in between stations of Dum Dum to Tollygunge.
Enhanced Services
Kolkata Metro is one of the oldest and the only underground rapid metro rail system in India which is run by Indian railways . This metro system is soon going to provide passengers enhanced services. A part of Internet facility, 28 more trains will be introduced soon in the bucket of Kolkata metro and you can reach metro train at every six-minute time frame in weekdays.
